Bio

Lauren is an American journalist based in New York City. Her writing has appeared in various magazines, including Los Angeles Magazine, Diversion, and PARADE. Currently, Lauren’s work can be found on NBC.com and NBC’s Today Show, as well as on the CBS travel editor’s website PeterGreenberg.com, at BizBash Media, Disney’s Family.com, Business Week, and The Huffington Post.

In 2007, Lauren co-founded offManhattan.com, a travel site featuring car-free green getaways. It is the web’s go-to destination for discovering new places outside the island that are reachable without a car; detailed directions via public transportation from Manhattan are provided alongside each article.

Lauren was born in Manhattan, raised in Los Angeles, and has lived in Paris, Florence, Rome, and London. Her grandfather Mel Matison, once a short story author and Esquire contributor, posthumously passed on his appetite for writing, for which she is grateful.
